Office 365 Email - Known Issues & FAQs

There are a number of reasons why you may have received an Office 365. To move your email back to gmav you will need to add the account to your gmav account. Please read and follow the these instructions.
We're aware that communications to Organization users has not been recieved by all organizations. Please speak with your tech person for assistants in logging into your org.
Internet Explorer may pick up extra information from your computer when you try to login. Please try putting your full UNO email address in the username field. (You may need to click on Use another account before IE allows you to do this.)
Please try resetting your NetID Password. And then try logging in with full UNO email address including the @unomaha.edu. If you still can't login, please contact the Helpdesk at (402) 554-4357.
You can access your email via web browser. Please go to http://office365.unomaha.edu. If you would like Outlook installed on your campus computer please contact your college/department tech person. If you are not sure who your tech person is, please contact the Helpdesk at (402) 554-4357.
If you are sharing calendars between Mac and PC users please use the Web App to share it. For more information please read Sharing a Calendar.
Outlook opens in offline mode until you log into your account in order to sync your Outlook with the Microsoft cloud. This allows you to create and read emails while traveling or when internet access is unavailable. Sent emails are stored in the Outbox until you log onto your account through an internet connection. (This Outlook feature assumes you have a password protected logon for your computer). If you are worried about someone accessing your email on your local computer, press Windows Key + L to lock your screen when you leave your work area.
This is a known issue that some times effects Outlook. Please see Microsoft Support's Knowledge Base article and follow the instructions to fix it.
Start by typing the name directly into the (To: Cc: Bcc:) fields. Office 2011 will automatically check the University Address Book. After completing this process once during your first email, the University Address Book will then be accessible from the Address Book.
Depending what kind of access they've given you to their calendar, you may or may not be able to send email on their behalf, even if it looks like you can. Microsoft is aware of this issue and is working on a fix.

While it's true that the Paper Clip icon is missing, you can still drag and drop files into the meeting description of a meeting invitation or go to Meeting> Attachments> Add.
In Outlook 2011 you have to make sure Hide On My Computer folders is not checked.
iCal will allow you to view free/busy when inviting people to meetings, but it will not allow you to add a calendar if you do not have access to details listed in the calendar. This is not a bug, simply the way the program handles permissions.
The Junk folder will retain messages for 29 days and then the messages will be deleted from the folder automatically.
Yes, there are multiple email limits for Office 365.
Yes, email sent to @mail.unomaha.edu will still get to you, however the proper format for your email address is @unomaha.edu.
Please download and follow the instructions in Setup Outlook 2010.
Click on your name in the upper right corner of the Outlook Web App. Click Change Picture. The click Change... next to the blank Current Picture. Select the picture you want to appear and click Open. Click Save and your picture will soon appear.
Double click on the message title to open it in a new window. The click the printer button in the message window. Do not use the printer buttons on your browser or File->Print
Open your Calendar and click the Printer Icon at the top of the message. (Do not go to File->Print or the printer icon on your browser). Select the options for what you want to print and click print at the bottom of the window.
Outlook 2011 a new product and is not as mature as the Outlook client available for the PC. Some features may be different or not present in the Mac version of Outlook. Rules that are created on your local Outlook client only effect how you view your account in Outlook. To make them work in both Outlook and Mobile devices you will need to setup rules in the Outlook Web App.
